There are only a couple of days left to help out this socially conscious non-profit organization – Krochet Kids. I discovered this week that our children have outgrown many of the hats we have. Then as I was preparing this post I decided to go ahead and order two of these Krochet Kids’ hats. I also desired to share with all of you that I want to be a part of what they are doing. What better way to give this Christmas than to get behind organizations who are trying to make the world a better place?
Each of the hats are handcrafted and even include a tag signed by the creator. The hats are 100% acrylic or an acrylic/wool blend and come in several styles and colors. Most of the hats are one-size-fits-all, but they do have two styles specifically for children ages 2-6 – Kids Grom and Kids Scoop.
This holiday season Krochet Kids International (KKI) are asking for your help on December 7th -14th to Give the Gift of Love to impoverished women in Ugunda. These women—with the help of a team of young Americans who taught them how to crochet—are working to create and maintain sustainable economic development programs that support holistic growth of their community and the individuals within their community. The Krochet Kids have worked continuously to help women rise above poverty and offer a well-made one of a kind crochet hat to socially minded individuals hoping to change the world for the better. During the week of December 7th Krochet Kids are asking communities to become advocates for these women in help them in activating and achieving their goal.
“The goal is to sell over 2,000 hats the week of December 7th and 14th, “Kohl Crecelius Founder of KKI explains. “Krochet Kids International was born out of our love for crocheting and our desire to make a difference in this world. Our goal is to challenge everyone to dream big with us and help make a difference.â€
The work of KKi is really three-fold:
• Creation of jobs
• Awesome products
• Social investment and change
As of this writing, Krochet Kids is at the 1,000 mark, so let’s help them reach that 2,000 goal by the end of Monday, December 14, 2009. Give the gift of Love from KrochetKids.org
