B.R.A.T. is a special organic beverage that is named after the bland BRAT diet that our mothers use to feed us when we were sick with a tummy bug. BRAT actually is abbreviated for – Bananas, Rice, Applesauce and Toast (or Tummy-Soother according to B.R.A.T.’s packaging).
This organic drink is lactose, gluten, casein, soy, corn and preservative free. There’s no sugar added either. We were very generously sent two of each flavor of B.R.A.T. and even though I asked my family to only use one box of four cartons, somehow a fifth carton got used too because a certain little boy happened to really like the chocolate honey flavored. Hmmm…..
Anyways, the flavors did not taste bad at all. Bland, yes. Without sugar, yes. So beware those of you with a sweet tooth you will miss the sugar, believe me, I know! The thing I like about B.R.A.T. is that each of our children had a flavor they enjoyed, so once sickness hits our house, we will be half way prepared – that’s why I wanted to save one box and we’d review the other so we’d have some of the B.R.A.T on hand. Plus, sometimes it is so hard to get nourishment into our children, especially little ones that cannot be reasoned with. So when they are really sick B.R.A.T. will provide them with the much needed fluids – the best thing for stomach bugs. B.R.A.T. seems to combine the need of fluids with the need of a bland diet to create a really unique product to help fill the nutrient requirements of those who are ill.
Another thing we like about B.R.A.T. is that it comes in four different flavors: original, vanilla, cinnamon toast and chocolate honey, which is yummy according to one of my guys, remember!?
