It must be because I am pregnant that I am featuring snacks and snack bars lately…but I have to admit to liking them even when I am not expecting. This time the snacky food is KIND bars. KIND snacks are a fruit and nut bar made of all natural ingredients. No high fructose corn syrup, GMOs or artificial preservatives. They are also gluten, wheat and dairy free.
The four bars I tried were Sesame & Peanuts with Chocolate, Walnut and Date, Almond & Coconut and Almond & Apricots in Yogurt. I really liked them all. I love yogurt so I’d have to say that even though I am not crazy over apricots, the Almond & Apricots in Yogurt was probably at the top of the list if I had to choose a favorite.
Walnut & Date had the least amount of calories at 150. The others ranged from 200-230 due to having the other nuts, chocolate and yogurt in them.
They are a sweet bar, but provide extra fiber, Omega-3s, protein and antioxidants, which equals extra energy especially for an expectant mama like me!
There are other flavors of KIND bars in the KIND PLUS line like Cranberry Almond, Almond Cashew, Omega-3 Almond, Walnut & Macadamia + Protein, Mango Macadamia + Calcium, Strawberry Nut Delight + Calcium and Passion Fruit Macadamia + B-Complex, which all sound good too. The KIND PLUS provide a low glycemic index, low sodium and have no trans fats or hydrogenated oils, just like the regular KIND bars that I tried.
