Recently we received a package and you would have thought that it was Christmas or a birthday gift or something by the excitement that was pervading through our house. What was in this mystery box? Colgate Kids toothbrushes and toothpaste! Eco-Friendly and chemical sensitive readers will be happy to know that the last I checked, Colgate products were low on “chemical scale”, except for the fact that some of them do have dyes in them. Our Review
Our children have had no complaints about the Colgate products we received. They all have loved using their new toothbrushes and toothpaste. Sometimes I think new toothbrushes are like a new box of crayons, you know what I mean? It’s new, its fun and exciting to open it up and use it right out of the package. Of course, they all liked the color, style and character they received. It worked out perfectly.
One of our sons has been somewhat of a reluctant brusher and the battery operated toothbrush really has made him motivated to brush when he needs too. He and his brother have been found brushing their teeth 2, 3 and 3 times a day now! My husband and I have agreed we don’t care if we’ll have to buy new batteries, it’s worth it just to have them wanting to brush their teeth and doing it well.
Our two year old loves his new toothpaste and toothbrush. He already calls himself a “big boy” and I think having his own toothpaste for the first time makes him feel even “bigger”. It’s so nice that the My First Toothpaste does not have any dyes or artificial flavors in it.
I even like my new toothbrush. It’s the Colgate Max White. It feels like it is getting a closer brush to my gumline and I think it’s the design of the bristles. Our girls are not hard to please at all. Our four year old loves her pink toothbrush and toothpaste! She’s truly a girly-girl! She loves princesses too!
Special thanks to our PR rep and Colgate for providing us with a generous supply of toothpaste and toothbrushes!

It is quite upsetting and ironic that the company that has been producing toothpaste containing fluoride for years, now has come out with a Fluoride-free toothpaste. With all the bad effects fluoride has on the body and children (dental fluorosis) they should not even be producing fluoridated toothpaste. Turn around a tube of toothpaste and read what it says. Now after all these years they have realized it and have come up with an alternative. What does that say to you?
Theresa Gould says
I think they are realizing there is a market for the fluoride-free products because consumers are more conscious and research savvy. Whereas before people weren’t, especially before the advent of the internet.
Sheila says
Yes but they are the biggest endorsers of the ADA and the ADA is the biggest advocate of Fluoride. They will not even consider testing or reviewing products that do not contain Fluoride. Also, stick to your principles – either you are good or you are bad. You can’t sell bad things and then come out with a good alternative just to make money.

Thanks for letting me speak mi mind! 🙂

Unfortunately, the fluoride debate isn’t nearly so clear cut as some people would like to make out. It’s a drug, and like any drug it has its uses and its adverse effects. Some people really, really need fluoride in order to have healthy teeth at all. If it weren’t for fluoride, I would have really horrifically bad teeth. Both my parents have teeth that were falling out when they were in their twenties, and they passed that down to me. However, I’ve been using fluoridated toothpaste since I was a child and I learned to be careful with my teeth. I have healthy teeth that will probably last me long enough to suffer from the arthritis and osteoporosis I may get from early fluoride if my vitamin supplements don’t do their job.
