This afternoon my daughter was given a bunch of gluten free snacks and I tried the blueberry fruit bar. It reminded me of a Fig Newton bar, only it had blueberry and healtier ingredients. It was very yummy.
Ingredients:
Blueberry Fruit Filling (Fruit Juice Concentrate [Peach, Pear, Pineapple, Apple], Blueberries, Apples, Inulin, Tapioca Starch, Apple Powder, Natural Flavor, Citric Acid, Pectin, Locust Bean Gum, Organic Rice Flour, Red Cabbage Extract for Color), Fruitrim® (Fruit Juices, Natural Grain Dextrins), Gluten-Free Oats, Gluten-Free Flour Blend (Potato Starch, Brown Rice Flour, Stone Ground Sorghum Flour, Tapioca Flour), Safflower Oil, Inulin (dietary fiber), Water, Guar Gum, Xanthan Gum, Sea Salt, Cinnamon, Baking Soda, Ginger.
These fruit bars are like any other specialty snacks and costs more than a regular old chocolate bar, but is comparable to the snack bars on the market retailing for about $1.25 each when bought in a pack of 12. They are also available in a jar of 45 for $43.75, which is still $1.25/bar.
