Hope your holiday celebrations are well under way and you are enjoying getting ready for your weekend festivities. We are no where near ready. We are having our hot water heater replaced tonight and waiting for a part for our washer, which won’t arrive until next Tuesday due to the holidays. It’s hard to keep a festive spirit when things are going wrong, laundry is waiting to be taken to the laundry mat and we have no hot water. Three bright spots in our week was our neighbor coming to our door to give us a whole turkey dinner package and wishing us “Merry Christmas!”, a friend’s offer to travel over an hour to help put in our new hot water heater and yet another friend’s surprise money gift – evidence that there are blessings amidst troubles.
Whatever is happening at your house this week, I hope you can keep your focus on the things that are important: the reason for the season, family and friends, so you can have a very Merry Christmas!
