Completely forgot to post this. Oops. It did not help that I had a very bad headache. ๐
The Bumbo Chair is a portable baby seat. The chair is uniquely designed for baby to sit in and does not require any straps, as its seat and sides are deep enough to keep baby contained, unless you have a particularly active baby. The Bumbo Chair does not come with a tray, although a tray may be purchase separately for at an additional cost (around $8 or so). This seat is sturdy and comes in blue, lilac, aqua, pink and lime green.
We got the aqua Bumbo Chair. My son seemed to like it at times, but for the most part he did not like sitting in it. ๐ He has been sitting up by himself for a little while now, but only for short times. He is the type of baby who does not seem to like being by himself, which can be expected with so many people in our home. With so many hands to hold him, it is just easy to hand him off to a pair of arms than to put him in a chair. Therefore, my hopes of having him sit next to me, freeing up my hands and arms, while I work did not quite work out like I had hoped because of his preference for human touch. Cannot fault him for that, nor can you fault me for trying a new baby accessory.
I have heard of other mothers and babies love and enjoy the Bumbo seat and while I think it was a great idea, it did not work for our family at this time because baby boy just does not like sitting in it for more than a few seconds at a time.
The Bumbo Chair retails for $39.99. Recommended for babies ages 3-14 months. http://www.keendistribution.com/bumbo_BabySeat.php
