If you have never listened to Rebecca St. James, you should. She offers a relaxing style of Christian contemporary music. She’s upbeat, yet the depth of her lyrics pierces the soul. We really enjoyed her new CD I Will Praise You
I am listening to the first song which has the same name as the album and at the top of the lyrics Rebecca has written:
I wrote this song to challenge myself to live in hope, not fear, and to worship God in the middle of storms in my life. The beautiful part is that the latter leads to the former.
That really spoke to me right now because there is a lot of fear in my life right now. And without going into details, it is very hard when life throws you a cow patty to rise above it with a smile on your face and a song in your heart. Yet if you want to get through it a better person, that is exactly what you have to do.
I think anyone who is going through a difficult time – unemployment, loss of a child, death in the family, or any other hardship – will be encouraged by the songs on this CD to find the silver lining and to cling to what is true amidst the difficulty.
