Summer is always stressful for moms alike. So here are our six tips for reducing stress.
1. Find Your Place for Peace-
Identify a quiet space where you can refocus your attention away from the constant mind-chatter. Whether it’s in bed, first thing in the morning or last thing at night, outside under a tree, or even your favorite family room chair. Claim ownership to that place as where you will go to regain balance and ignite peace within yourself each day.
2. Breath in the Moment-
Take several long, deep breaths where you feel the air reaching the top of your head and then moving down to the tips of your toes. With each breath, open your heart and mind and visualize the tension leaving your body. This practice is a new form of mediation called Stillness. Commit to this form of breathing for 3 – 5 minutes.
3. Listen and Allow-
Create a playlist on your iPod with calming music. You could, download one of Marlise’s Stillness Session CDs
4. Take Inspired Action-
Being in constant reaction mode will leave you feeling exhausted & unfulfilled. After taking a few moments in stillness, follow through with the necessary steps to achieve the goals you set forth for the day. If a disruption occurs, acknowledge it and look for a solution, rather than allowing it to derail you. Notice how your new focus helps you to stay on track with greater ease.
5. Stay Motivated-
Acknowledge that you have the ability to make choices that will keep you moving toward your overall vision. Choose what moves you toward your goals that give you the greatest rewards and brings out the power of peace in you.
6. Just Relax-
One day a week just chill. Relax. And enjoy time with your family. Don’t worry about school, work, or appointments. Just relax.
