I don’t often wear hats, but I like the look of them. Last summer I wore a hat more often due to being out in the sun gardening on a 200′ x 80′ field. This summer I am working on an organic farm that is about an acre, it doubled its size from last year. and there is not much shade. Therefore I find myself thinking about hats again since I have already had one episode of heat stroke on our one 88 degree day. It is important to protect ourselves from the damaging effects of the sun, wearing a hat is one way to do that. The hat I wore last year has a floppy brim and I am looking for one with a wider brim.
I found a few that I liked, but the majority were a bit dressy for the likes of gardening! Some were much too pricey for gardening. Most of them were perfect for formal affairs like graduations, weddings or special occasions. So I thought I’d share them with you all.
Dashenka Co. has a beautiful wide brimmed straw hat decked to the nines with gold and precious stones. It’s high-end and priced accordingly at $310.
White hats are very elegant and this hat fits with its large flower. Priced at $149.
This large black and white straw hat looks like a part of a bridal ensemble or what the royal family would wear. It is conservatively priced at $57.
All three of these hats I found at the first place I thought of looking for hats, I’ll let you know when I find my perfect “farm” hat! If you have any suggestions, please feel free to share them.
