Martha Speaks is partnering with the Humane Society of the United States to celebrate the great work done by animal shelters around the country, encourage people to support their local shelters, and help people choose and care for pets responsibly.
On Martha Speaks, Martha is a shelter dog who is adopted by Helen and her family. Many Martha Speaks episodes incorporate information on how to treat animals humanely and support animal shelters.
Tune in for a Brand New Shelter Dog Episode
America’s favorite dog returns this fall with a special week of episodes about adding a four-legged friend to your family beginning Monday, October 3 on PBS KIDS (check local listings). On Monday in the all-new episode “Carolina Picks a Lily,” Carolina adopts a new puppy named Lily…because it matches her purse! When the gang points out the pup won’t stay pocketbook-sized for long, she regrets her impulsive adoption. You and your children can tune in as Martha teaches Carolina about responsible pet ownership and helps Carolina find Lily a forever home. Your children will learn about shelter dogs and responsible pet care in this episode and more all week long on Martha Speaks.
