Back to school is just around the corner and we moms are busy looking for lunch ideas for our kids. Every mom wants to feed her child healthy food. How can you do that while still cutting costs and time? Here are some of our tricks-
Use whole grain or gluten free bread- White bread does nothing for your child or their health. Buy whole grain bread or better yet, gluten free.
Use organic snack and mixes- If you aren’t a baking sort of person then check out your local Whole Foods for products such as Annie’s snacks  and Arrowhead Mills cookie and cake mixes to include treats in their lunch box.
Use your own meat- You can use Sunday’s pot roast leftovers or chicken in sandwiches for your little one. Not only is it healthier then lunch meat or canned meat, but it is an easy way to use up leftovers.
Use organic products and fresh veggies and fruit in season- Not only will buying food in season cut your costs, but it will also help cut back on the amount of pesticides on your food used on your food. Organic yogurt like Stonyfield and milk from Organic Valley also make fun lunch additions for kids. During the winter and fall months make extra soup and heat it up the next morning before putting it in a thermos for kids.
Make them fun- Make the lunches fun! Include a special note, their favorite type of cookie, cut them into cute shapes or let them help you! The possibilities are endless.
