Back to school season is here and parents are all scrambling to save money and buy school supplies. Here are our top tips to save money on back to school shopping.
Buy ahead-
Do your shopping in the early months like July/August. Not September. School supplies are much much cheaper in August and July then they are the day before school starts in September.
Don’t just buy whatever-
Make sure the school supplies that you buy will last all year long. Crayola markers are alot better made then generic markers so be careful when purchasing items. Mead notebooks are also alot better made then the cheap Walmart brand books. You want to save money, but don’t be cheap. You will end up paying five dollars for new markers in January instead of 1.99.
Do your research-
Don’t just go into Walmart and buy everything your child needs. Do your research. Check the flyers. Make sure the story you are going to has the best deals for your buck. And if needed go to both Walgreens and Walmart.
Leave the Kids at Home-
Kids tend to ask for every little thing in the store. Those one dollar sticker packs may SEEM like a great deal, but after the tenth trinket they start to add up. Leave the kiddos home with dad or grandma.
Use coupons-
Scour the internet and deal sites to find money saving coupons that will not only cut your bill in half, but you will also end up getting free items such as pencils as well from the savings!
