Everyone has a style, but lets face it, kids are picky. Childhood is a time of adventure and new experiences, but finding your child’s style can be rather complicated some days when your little monkey would much rather run around shirtless or without shoes on.
Sometimes it’s easy to find the clothes that your child will adore, my youngest daughter loves anything pink or twirly. Whereas with my one son, it’s been a challenge finding clothes that both he and I agree on.
Not only is compromise a big key in finding clothes that both you and your child approve of, but prices, material and style, factor in as well. With some kids their style just clicks, you know right away that they’ll like and don’t like. As always, it requires paying attention to what they like and don’t like. Don’t try forcing a little free spirit to wear pink if she doesn’t want it, that just ends in a headache all around. Let her have the orange and green t-shirt for play. Even if we can agree that it doesn’t really match the pink capris.
Don’t be afraid to let your child branch out and try new things, maybe those mismatched socks won’t work for school, but the polka dot pants? Sure. Not to mention polka dots are in this fall.
Whatever you and your child decide, remember to have fun while shopping and figuring out what your child likes and dislikes. It’s not hard, children are generally rather honest little souls and will tell you if you just listen.
