Freefroot is a new website that is offering free giveaways of products from health, beauty and fashion to technology. It seemed too good to be true! I went to the website and signed up for my free account. They ask you for your name, email address and ask you to choose a user name and password. Then an activation link will be sent to your inbox. Upon activating your account, you will be asked a few more questions, some required, others optional – things like your zip code, age, gender, your favorite charity and what giveaway categories interest you. Pretty painless.
To enter the giveaways all you have to do is click on “giveaway” below the item you desire to win. Most of the companies ask you a question about the product, which you can easily find the answer to, if needed, by doing a google search. The other companies will ask you a personal question of what your favorite kind is or where will you ride the Strida bike you hope to win. None of it is invasive and it costs absolutely nothing but the time it takes to create your account, browse the giveaways, enter and submit your entry. That is all there is to it.
Most of the giveaways also have a limited number of products that will be given away, so it isn’t a free-for-all type of deal. The chances of winning will depend upon how many enter each of the giveaways.
There is a socially conscious side to Freefroot and that is that visitors and giveaway entrants also have the option of outright purchasing any of the items listed as giveaways. Then a portion of the purchase is donated back to the charity of your choice, if I understand it correctly, since that would be why they ask you what your favorite charity is in the profile section of your account.
I actually tested the site to find out all of the above information and entered eight of the giveaways! Many of the giveaways have a lot of time left to run, so there will be a time lag in knowing how easy or how difficult it is to actually win.
