It seems like everyone these days is trying to get kids to grow up fast. And while it might be nice to have our tweens and teenagers mature, there is a fine line when it comes to pushing little girls to grow up.
For example, the pageant industry has always disturbed me. It bothers me that people put so much pressure on little girls to look beautiful. When in fact we should be telling them that they are perfect just the way they are, not offering them spray tans and mascara.
So how far is too far? Are heels inappropriate for a six year old? Should ten year olds be wearing a mini skirt? Where do we draw the line for dress up and sexy?
It all depends on what is right for YOUR family. Just be sure to consider that your little girls will only be little once. Let them stay little because one day you’ll be fighting with them not to wear that see through tank top and you’ll want them to be seven again.

I don’t have any little girls but it boggles my mind when I see these beauty pageants of six-year-olds wearing mini skirts and heels and gobs of makeup. I agree with you, kids are only kids once. Let them enjoy childhood. Playing dress up is one thing, but wearing sexy outfits on a regular basis seems a bit much to me.
