Toddlers are picky creatures and their wrath is terrifying when you’re facing a tantrum head on. Finding snacks that they actually eat is sometimes an even bigger problem than dealing with a tantrum.
To make your life a little easier, here are five healthy snack ideas that are perfect for toddlers.
Apples and Peanut Butter: Simply slice up your toddlers favorite apple and serve with all natural Peanut Butter (We love Skippy’s!) for a delicious, healthy treat.
Frozen Yogurt Bites: Every toddler loves yogurt, and every toddler loves ice cream even more. Combine the two by lining a metal cookie sheet with parchment paper, and then placing small toddler sized dollops of yogurt on it. Freeze the yogurt until frozen and serve! They’ll melt in your toddlers mouth. (You can also make apple sauce bites the same way.)
Ants on a Log: An oldie, but a goodie, make a fun treat for your kiddos by cutting up celery into manageable pieces, spreading with peanut butter, and placing ants on top.
Cheese Shapes: Taking large slices of block cheddar cheese and miniature cookie cutters, cut out shapes of cheese to serve on top of whole grain crackers.
Fruit Kebabs: Using four of your child’s favorite fruit and leftover kebab sticks from your family’s Fourth of July barbecue, make up a few colorful fruit kebabs that will make even the pickiest toddler want a bite or two!
